Dr Karen Addy is a Consultant Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience both in private practice and NHS services including medico legal, capacity and criminal case work for courts. Dr Addy specialises in Adult Neuropsychological rehabilitation using Cognitive Analytic Therapy as her main treatment model and has wide experience of working in and leading Multidisciplinary teams, support worker teams and supervising other professionals including Clinical Psychologists.

Dr Addy also provides both Neuropsychological and general Clinical Psychology medico-legal assessments and is a accredited expert witness with both Bond Solon and The Expert Witness Institute. Her medico legal assessment practice covers North Wales from her base in Bangor, Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. She is also willing to travel to client’s homes and wider in the UK upon specific request.

Dr Addy is also a Bupa approved Neuropsychologist and can be accessed via Bupa for Bupa clients.

Dr Peter Kinsella
Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology

Dr Peter Kinsella is a Clinical Psychologist working in NHS acute Neuropsychology services and part time in independent practice. He has with extensive experience of neurorehabilitation and assessment.

Dr Kinsella specialises in Adult Neuropsychology providing therapy and assessment of a wide range of neurological conditions including acquired brain injuries, strokes, MS, Parkinson’s disease, spinal injuries and degenerative disorders. Dr Kinsella has wide experience of working in Multidisciplinary teams, support worker teams and supervising other professionals.

Dr Kinsella provides neuropsychological therapy and rehabilitation in clients homes in the Merseyside and Cheshire regions. Dr Kinsella can be contacted and instructed via 65 High Street.

Dr Rebecca Williams BSc DClinPsy CPsychol
Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Rebecca is a highly specialist Consultant Clinical Psychologist, with over 19 years expertise in working with adults, children and young people with learning disability and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD. She has worked within the NHS and privately conducting complex assessments, formulations, and interventions, as well as providing clinical leadership to Learning Disability, Children’s Disability Services and Neurodevelopmental Disorders services within the NHS. Her main areas of expertise are in diagnoses for complex neurodevelopmental conditions, risk assessments for people with learning disabilities (LD), parenting assessments for people with LD, and functional analyses of behaviour, including for Court purposes. Rebecca also offers therapy for people with learning disabilities or ASD/ ADHD, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC and as a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS.

Dr John Connolly
Clinical and Health Psychologist

Dr John Connelly is a Clinical and Health Psychologist who is highly qualified and specialised in child assessment and intervention.
He offers a range of assessment services and packages to support an understanding of your child’s needs and ability including

  • Cognitive assessment (Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children [WISC-V]) to support an understanding of your child’s strengths and difficulties.
  • Functional skills assessment to allow needs identification and intervention planning. This may be informed by the Adaptive Behaviour [sic] Assessment System Third Edition (ABAS-3) which gives a complete picture of adaptive skills across the lifespan. It is particularly useful for evaluating those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, neuropsychological disorders, and sensory or physical impairments.
  • Quality of life assessments to understand, support and track quality of life and the impact of intervention.
  • Strengths based assessments to support understanding of your child’s strengths.
  • Mental health assessment to identify any mental health issues. Encompassing other factors that may be impacting performance, functioning or well-being and we can offer related therapy and intervention or support signposting and recommendations
  • Complex case Formulation: extended assessment to help support an understanding of your child’s needs and their presenting difficulties. Often, this is helpful when there are multiple complex needs or when there is a limited understanding of the young person’s presentation, despite considerable intervention or isolated assessment in the past.
